Almonds are so versatile, I have used them in such a variety of recipes as they make a healthy and tasty addition to both sweet and savory dishes. Almonds are high in monounsaturated fats, the type of health-promoting fats that have been associated with reducing risk of heart disease and lowering cholesterol. Almonds are an amazing source of vitamin E an antioxidant that promotes healthy skin, hair and nails. They are a very good source of manganese and copper, both of which maintain our energy levels. It is a common belief that eating nuts leads to weight gain, but research states people who regularly eat nuts actually loose weight – so enjoy your almonds, however you like them!
Top Tip: I love using almonds in a homemade trail mix: Add some dried fruits and selection of nuts to tub and eat on the go!
